An application I’d like to share is Strava. This app utilizes GPS and also tracks heart monitoring with a wide range of activities. The app tracks your activity for you and creates these nice visual displays via graphs and charts so that you are able to digest this information. You can see the progress you are making. You have the option of sharing this information or storing it privately. When you share the progress your community sees it and can give you a thumbs up which serves as a small hit of dopamine and motivation that we all sometimes need or want. When going public with information I think this is a great way to increase student engagement because of how social their life is. It can help grow students holistically as it addresses many of the components.
