For the project report, name the company and its code of ethics you are examining in the title of the report, then 1) examine the company or organization’s code of ethics (the one you identified in your proposal) by separating the statements that relate to deontological norms versus those that relate to teleological norms. If you find norms that combine both, you will create a third list and briefly explain why or how this norm can be considered both deontological and teleological. In addition, identify from your readings, my feedback to your Exercise # 5, and your overall learning of what deontological norms and what teleological norms may be missing in the chosen code of ethics. Or, what new norms should this company introduce to its code of ethics. 2) conduct an organizational analysis modeled in Merck & Company’s Three-Step Code Drafting Process (Reading 5, page 23). This analysis will use the information of your chosen company. The Merk model is only a model to follow. You must compare what Merck & Company did with what your chosen company does. What additional steps your chosen company should take in re-drafting its code of ethics, for instance, a step your chosen company should take to be comparable to what Merk & Company did. 3) recommend to the company you target some methods to appropriately plan the implementation of its code of ethics. Reading 5 includes a set of recommendations and methods from “Motorola’s Analytical Approaches for Business Ethics Problems” (Reading 5, page 36). This helps you make a useful comparison: compare what Motorola did and what your chosen company did or (if it didn’t do) should do to implement its code of ethics.
